Are you a professional who works with the Italian language, whether teaching, writing, educating, translating, or involved in the travel industry?
We recently released an Italian language-learning book for beginners, and need an editorial review to post along with the book.
Ideally you will be either very well-qualified (e.g. Italian teacher, Italian translator, have written books, etc.) and/or well-known in the Italian language-learning space: E.g. an influencer with regards to travel and/or teaching people Italian, blogger, or similar. We will send you a digital (PDF) version of the book, which is comprised of short stories for upper-beginner to intermediate Italian learners. We would then ask you to write an Editorial Review of 50-100 words, to along with your name and qualification/tagline, which we will pair with the book.
Your review will help potential readers determine whether the book is right for them. Examples below. Please include: Any previous experience with similar projects Your qualifications in the area of learning/teaching Italian
Any relevant influence - books written, websites or courses delivered, followers, blog, etc. The words "reviews matter" in your application so we know you have read to the end. Open job in a new window
The outcome of this project will be to create something like these EXAMPLE editorial reviews below. These examples below are all made up, and are just to show the kind of style/length we are looking for. Of course, your review would be tailored towards our book (not like the examples below which are just for reference). / Examples:
"Whether you're starting from scratch or dusting off old skills, this book offers a refreshingly smart and structured way to learn. The short stories are engaging and truly build confidence—and the vocab tools and comprehension questions actually stick. I've recommended it to my newsletter readers, and I'm hearing great things." — Mateo Do Rio, creator of the Everyday Polyglot blog and language coach to over 5,000 students
"There are plenty of tools out there for learning a language, but few manage to make the process feel this rewarding. This book is thoughtful, well-paced, and beautifully designed for the self-learner. It respects the learner's time and intelligence —something sorely missing in many beginner resources." - Thomas Keane, bestselling author of Fluent in Five Languages: My Journey & Tools That Worked
"This book strikes a rare balance between clarity and immersion. As a linguist and educator, I've seen too many resources overwhelm or bore beginners.
This one gets it right. The stories are vivid, the vocabulary is useful, and the progression feels natural. A smart choice for anyone serious about building fluency." - Dr. Anika Brandt, Professor of Applied Linguistics and author of The Language Habit
"This isn't just another fill-in-the-blanks workbook. It's a thoughtfully structured guide that helps readers think in the new language from the start. The use of context and storytelling makes each lesson stick, and the progression is intuitive-ideal for adult learners. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to build lasting confidence, not just test scores." — Elena Brook, curriculum designer and author of Smart Starts: Rethinking Adult Language Learning --- Thank you for your time and interest in the project. $20.00 Fixed-price Project Type: Ongoing project Intermediate Experience Level Skills and Expertise Mandatory skills Proofreading English Italian Writing Preferred qualifications
